Environmental Art
Why have a solo exhibition? The SParc Gallery is a good space to experiment within and to bring together recent themes in my artwork. Bringing awareness to local environmental issues is one theme that has already held great discussion. Therefore l have included links to relevant environmental groups below.
Environmental Artwork
I was encouraged to complete an artwork that explores a current, local environmental issue.
The artwork “Hydrolical Dead Trees” looks at the unstable ecological life from water flows and how it can impact flora. The end product is a collage, based on plein-air sketches when at Blue Rock Dam and conveys concern for the effects on rivers and dams. The final collaged piece has details about the pressing environmental issue and into the future.
I have included a “Before” photo of the artwork as it highlights the found pigment gathered from the location, showing part of the process.
Below is environmental groups that are valuable for updates in regional and Narrm/Melbourne.
